• Account information — your name and email address when you sign in with Apple

• Wine data you create — bottle saves, tasting notes, star ratings, personal notes, and purchase information you enter

• Photos — wine label images you capture or upload are stored securely to display your saved bottles

• Usage data — basic app interactions to help us improve the experience

• Subscription status — whether you have an active Shelf Premium subscription, managed via RevenueCat

How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to operate and improve Shelf:

• To save and display your wine collection across sessions and devices

• To generate AI-powered tasting notes, winery stories, and recommendations via the Claude API

• To manage your subscription and verify premium access

• To authenticate you securely via Apple Sign In

• To improve app features and fix issues

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising.

AI-Powered Features

Shelf uses the Claude API (by Anthropic) to analyze wine label images and generate tasting notes, food pairings, winery stories, and other wine intelligence. When you scan a label, the image and wine details are sent to Anthropic's API for processing. Please refer to Anthropic's Privacy Policy for information on how they handle data.

Data Storage & Security

Your wine data and account information are stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database platform with industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. Label photos are stored in secure cloud storage accessible only to your account.

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information, though no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

Shelf uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy practices:

• Supabase — database and file storage (Privacy Policy)

• RevenueCat — subscription management (Privacy Policy)
